Im not a paladin so I really dont know how good beacon of light is. But I do know that blessing of sanctuary is one of only two buffs in game that fill a certain role (grace being the other).
Is there anyway that a holy paladin could be useful with a 50/21 talent spec so that we can get blessing of sanctuary and an improved devotion aura? Perhaps something like this (http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=sxAzxMzuVuMxRxacbN0u)? Or is beacon of light just to good and paladins really cant give it up?

I guess it would depend if we're going to run with a protection paladin. If we are, then I'd think 50/21 wouldn't be necessary as prot palies need to take blessing of sanctuary to get the holy shield talent. If not, it couldn't hurt to have one of holy palies go 50/21 for the blessing tonight to test it out.
I was kicking around the idea of getting divine guardian in there somehow, too. For a long fight, a 12-second window of the tank and others near the paladin taking 30% less damage could prove to be helpful.

I think taking a Disc priest would be better than a paladin without beacon. They bring Divine Spirit (which is better than Fel Intelligence), Grace, and fulfill the same main tank healing spot that a paladin without beacon does. They also have good shields and stuff, which ends up being a pretty good complement for other styles of healing in my opinion, particularly on a fight like, say, Loatheb.

Ahh, but how to coerce Ladunch, that is the question.
Perhaps if we promise him <Fundies>...
Also I may add that any fight with an offtank, where healing is an issue, will be totally trivialized by two beacon paladins. Giving up 100% extra healing (usually) on one paladin seems... no.

While this is true, we really dont need another healer. And with CoH being so good, it would be a larger hit for a priest to go discipline than for a paladin to lose beacon in terms of healing.
We may end up running with a protection paladin still. I honestly have no idea how good our raid layout is and really need to sit down and hammer it out. But, in the meantime, Im looking for Xaan and Lyres opinions on if this would be viable at all.

Beacon of light is really nice for healing a tank/off-tank combo and works even better when we don't put the beacon on the same person. :)
If we have two paladin healers and no prot paladin, I would suggest trying one of us at 50/21 tonight and gauging how much the healing is changed, etc. Less damage being taken via the blessing of sanctuary could make up the somewhat less healing that a tank/off-tank would get via beacon of light. I think it could work but I really haven't done much theorycrafting or research about it.

I'll stick my nose where it doesn't belong again today ...
CoH is great and posts amazing hps numbers, but it doesn't keep tanks up by itself, and double CoH spam might not even be needed (on most fights, not say, Malygos) with Wild Growth as well. Guardian spirit + Grace is v. nice. Holy shields are hardly worth the mana in comparison to a Disc one. Just agreeing that disc is far from worthless.
Maybe we don't need 2 holy paladins? I tend to be pretty skeptical of gimping someone's build for a little raid synergy.

Beacon of light can be useful. In fights where we have to spam heal a tank heavily but are taking damage ourselves we can beacon ourselves to keep us and the tank up. It also helps heal a second tank if the second tank is also in healing range. (We have to be in range to beacon the second tank every minute)
One problem with Beacon of light is that our overheal doesn't get counted into it. So if I heal Nort for 3300, and was only missing 1700, Mysiana would only be healed for 1700. It's also costly, well over 1000 mana and lasts for a minute. Sometimes it's really hard to keep it up 100% of the time when we have to heavily spam heal someone, like on patchwerk.
Honestly I'm really not a huge fan of holy paladins in general, and Beacon is a sad 51 point talent, but there are some things we can use it for.
Personally, I have over 51 points in holy and only 18 in prot just to get the Divine shield talent for "Oh %&#(*$!!!!!!" moments. If you keep Mysiana as a tank you really don't need a holy paladin grabbing the blessing, so until you truly get an idea of what the raid composition is going to be I wouldn't worry about it right now. We have a pally for kings, a pally for wis and might, and one for sanctuary.
