right now my working theory is my power supply isnt giving the card enough power, it reccomends 22Amp on the 12V, and i got 18Amps with my stock psu. the strange thing is lad has the exact same machine with same gfx card but he doesnt get this issue. my computer is feeding more drives power then his though, so i suspect its either the graphics card or the power supply. the card is about 3 weeks old and hasnt done this until last thursday.

From memory, there's an option in the Video settings that can be selected if you're experiencing artifacting/tearing.

Short of that, updating drivers.. testing wow with extra HDDs unplugged... swapping the cards with Lad.. are things you can do before you decide to buy a new PSU/send card back on warranty. Maybe extra cooling for your case might be a cheaper option as well.

haha thanks for the reply shizz, i just made this post during our raid to show ppl what was happening. yea my first plan is to swap cards with lad, ive updated all the drivers i can think of but another suggestion i just read on evga's forum was to completely remove all drivers then restart the computer and install the most up to date ones. maybe even upgrade my MB bios.

anyways have a good one dude.

I had the exact same thing happen on my Mac, so -my- guess is it's a WoW bug.

Heating issues do strange things to graphics cards as well... I remember way back when I had wierd shit happening like video shutdown, tearing and artifacting.. all I had to do was give the card a good clean out so the fan was working more efficiently without being clogged up by that vaccum fluff you get.

Of course, probably doesn't apply to an almost brand new card either. But hey, extra devices in your case produce more heat and take up the room for heat to spread to. I'm willing to bet it has something to do with Phewl being a steaming hunk of a man and Lad being his usual Ice Maiden =]
