I stumbled across a trick that lets you push the camera out further from your character. The default UI lets you move the camera in and out from 0 to 30 of... whatever unit the game lets you use, and save up to 5 preset camera positions you can flip between. Turns out you can edit the distance of the default camera positions and assign distance values of up to 250. With WoW close, you want to edit the WTF\Config.wtf file and add lines of the following form:
SET cameraDistanceX "nnn"
where X is a letter corresponding to the preset camera (I've used B, C, and D) and nnn is a number between 0 and 250. Or I suppose if you already have preset camera positions you want to edit these lines instead of adding them.
Backup your files! Experiment at your own risk! I take no responsibility! 250 is really far away and mostly useful for getting nice screen caps in the old world but I was using a camera panned out to 70 for the Prince and it makes it a little easier to see the big picture, I expect it'll come in handy on some other fights too.
