I've seen some posts lately bringing up the idea of using improved expose armor in raids, as it ends up removing more armor than a full sunder stack -- but I haven't seen a convincing argument either way. Has anyone else? Anyone have a link to a useful discussion? Off the top of my head it'd have to consider:
impact on the dps of the rogue speccing into the talent and using combo points to keep it up, versus the overall gain in raid dps
impact on the threat generation of the tank (if a warrior), there is going to be a tradeoff between increased physical damage and reduced devastate damage
any dependance on mob armor (solarian, for example, may well have zero armor by the time sunder gets stacked

Personally, I'm threat capped on some fights already (Void Reaver, Morogrim, and probably more that I'm forgetting) so if dropping sunder decreases warrior threat generation at all then I'd be against it.

Speccing into improved expose armor would not be a problem. I'd lose about 9% of my eviscerate damage, but eviscerate is only about 7% of my damage anyway, so that'd be a less than 1% decrease in overall damage.

On the other hand, I suspect that keeping expose armor up all/most of the time would decrease my damage fairly significantly. I would guess that trying to finagle 5 combo points every 30 seconds to use on that would be about a full-time job and would take a lot of my concentration away from maximizing DPS. Obviously that would be offset by all the other physical classes doing more damage.

That being said, I'd be happy to try it; doesn't matter to me either way.
