Slowly but surely I'm getting a decent protection gear set put together. I still need some stuff to make it viable but I'm getting there. Other than gloves, all the stuff I do have takes gems. So, what I'm looking to discuss is what kind of of stats are necessary to make a paladin the best tank he can be. I want to make sure I gem and enchant my gear to maximize the strengths of the spec.

If you can get 490 defence from gear, then you should just gem Stam.

Def gives some avoidance and most gear that comes with Defence rating also comes with some avoidance. Also you can get avoidance from talents, so to maximize the 16% bonus to stamina that Paladins get from Prot talents, it's best to gem stamina and watch your HP grow. :D

Xaan if your looking for someone to talk to or someone to look up? The best pally tank I've ever seen is Lacellot, now he jumps specs all the time, so maybe not the easiest person to just look up, but if your looking for advice, he's very nice and you can check his armory

Thanks for the advice guys. I'll look him up and see if he's up to giving me some hints.
